Sounds like a great adventure in NYC, I also enjoy that city very much, and you are right about N.Yorkers moving twice as fast as the rest of the world (guess that's where the phrase "in a New York minute" comes from). But at the same time, the slow pace with which you move, the Hawaii pace is what makes this (Hilo) place such a wonderful place......

Sometimes we don't appreciate the slow relaxed life we lead until we see what the fast pace looks like. It's interesting to see. But, only to visit. As far as traffic is concerned; they have the rules of the road down to a fine point. I've figured out that the person who has a nose in front has the right of way. And that person must act accordingly, or the whole system comes apart. I have not figured out the fine details. But, that is something one has to know before attempting to drive in New York traffic. On second thought, I really don't need to know....
